Meeting Notes from August 2, 2018
President Dave Boldt opened the meeting and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Rather than calling for the members to sing one of our usual songs, he played the song "Wipeout" over the PA system. At the end, he announced that was him on the recording, playing the drums. Really cool. We did sing "My Country 'Tis of Thee" and Bob Mange gave the Invocation. By the way, thanks President Dave for buying the bar.
Rich Rider introduced our outbound Rotary Youth Exchange student, Kristen, who is leaving for Switzerland in a few days and our inbound student, Lucia, from Spain who arrived on July 31. Lucia's first hosts are Rich and Vicki.

President Dave announced that Garry Parlier, John Messner, Ken Stuart, and Frank Woods will cycle again this year on the Rotary Team in the Breathe California Ride in Petaluma on September 7, 8, and 9. If you want to sponsor them through a donation to Breathe California, you can do so by writing a check to Breathe California and giving it to any of the members or by credit card on the Sacbreathe.org website.
President Dave pointed to the email from District Governor Jack Arney if you would like to support fire victims of the many wildfires in Northern California.
President Dave has thank you letters from the students that we sent to RYLA in June. If you would like to read them, see President Dave.
Rob Ross assessed fines.
Bill Hutto announced that he needed one more volunteer for Tap Folsom on Friday night,
August 3.
Ryan Jantzen asked for volunteers to work L'Tape California by Le Tour de France, a bicycle event and race on September 1 and 2 in Folsom. If you would like to volunteer, contact Ryan.
Jim Karnis introduced our speakers, Will Kempton and Robert Cline, who spoke about the River District Study which will be presented to the Folsom City Council.
