Meeting Notes from April 11, 2019
President Dave Boldt opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance and the song, "My Country Tis of Thee".  Al Stehli gave the Invocation.  Jim Padgett introduced guests.
Dave Doherty bought the bar to celebrate the release of a new software product at Stanfield Systems.  Thanks Dave!
Christie Ross asked the club to get in kind donations for the live and silent auctions at the Wine and Dine.  If you are writing checks for $50 for your donation, give them to Christie.  You can contact her at or (916) 712-8852.
If you haven't picked up your Wine and Dine tickets, they are at the front desk every meeting.  Members are responsible for purchasing or selling 4 tickets.
Dawn Johnson received her permanent badge from President Dave.
Ryan Jantzen said that the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks did repairs on the Rotary Float and it is now "legal".  This is the float that we use in the Folsom Veterans Day Parade.  If you have space that you could store the float, please contact Ryan at or (916) 947-2673.
John Messner presented a Paul Harris Fellow +5 pin to Paul Bonaventure.
Coach Roz of The Playmakers announced a dinner and live auction fund-raiser on Saturday, April 27 in Orangevale.  If you are interested in tickets, go to Playmakers Fund-raiser.  Coach Roz said that 20 Rotary Clubs are now working with 600 at risk kids.
Dave Doherty introduced our speaker, James L'Etoile.  His topic was "Crime and Fiction Come Together".  James has written two crime novels since he retired from the Criminal Justice System.  The main character in the books is a Sacramento Homicide Detective.  James will be one of 40 authors at the Folsom Public Library for the Folsom Author Expo on April 27.
President Dave presented a box of Snook's Chocolate to James.
