Jim Ortega bought the bar to celebrate his 13th wedding anniversary this month and 1 year as Police Chief of the Placerville Police Department.  Thanks, Jim.

 

Christie Ross asked that members let her know what they are providing for the Wine and Dine Silent Auction.  There are only 44 days left so, if you haven't let her know, please do so ASAP.  All members are expected to donate an item worth at least $50 or $50 cash so the committee can purchase items for the silent auction.

 

Rachel Zirin asked for volunteers for the July 4th weekend parade which will be on June 30.  If you can help, contact Rachel at Rachel@zirin.net.

 

Rich Pepin asked the members to review the letter from Tatiana Valencia which he placed on each table.  Tatiana is a junior at Folsom Lake High and has been selected as a People to People International Student Ambassador on a 12-day educational program through Europe.  If you wish to contribute, contact Rich at rpepin8699@aol.com.  Rich collected donations for cookies that Tatiana made.

 

Rich Rider introduced our outbound RYE student, Kristyn Blackburn, who will be going to Switzerland in August 2018.  Kristyn thanked our club for sponsoring her.  Vicki Bencken introduced three visiting RYE students who were selling tickets to a RYE culinary fundraiser held last Sunday.  The funds will be used to pay for RYE students attendance at the District 5180 Conference in May.

Rob introduced our speaker, Steve Wright, Executive Director and Senior Law Enforcement Chaplain at Sierra Chaplaincy.  Their chaplains respond to all communities in El Dorado County and the City of Folsom anytime day or night.  Steve talked about counseling and working with police officers as well as responding to the needs of citizens in crisis.
