Annually the Foundation provides all third grade students their own dictionary within Folsom. Each public school classroom is provide with these special gifts. This activity has been ongoing for over several years and the students look forward to the time when they receive their personal dictionary in their classrooms.

Teachers within Folsom have an opportunity to apply annually for grants through the Folsom Rotary Foundation to be used in their classroom for teaching aids, programs or supplies to enhance their students educational experience. In 2015, five elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools received grants to provide assistance for their students.

At Folsom’s two high schools, students can participate in a Rotary International program called Interact. Every organized club during the school year develops two service projects, one for their own school and one for the community to promote international understanding. The clubs meet twice each month.

Scholarships are available to the two high schools graduating seniors who are selected by both the Folsom Rotary Foundation and the Folsom Rotary Club.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards are another type of scholarship awarded to high school students annually by the Foundation.

For the past 20 years, 53 high school juniors are paired with 53 business and community leaders in a day long conference known as the Youth Leadership Conference. They discuss in details leadership skills and ethical choices in the work place, school, local area and global community.

Rotary Youth Leadership Academy is a week long summer camp which provides an opportunity annually for selected Folsom high school students and is funded by the Foundation. These students participate with other students within the greater Sacramento area in a structured environment under the expertise of Rotary volunteers.
