The meeting was opened by President Ryan Jantzen who led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Bob Mange gave the Invocation.

 

Secretary Jim Padgett introduced guests and visiting Rotarians.

 

President Ryan announced that the Rotary Club of Folsom and the Folsom Rotary Foundation are presenting the 2nd Annual Fall Concerts in Historic Folsom.  The concerts will be at Zittel Family Amphitheater on Sundays from 1 pm to 3 pm starting October 16 through November 6. 
Three of the four bands include members of our club; Brisco County Band on October 23, Have Mercy on October 30, and Granite City 909 on November 6.

 

Bill Hutto is chairing the Veterans Day Parade float on November 11. He asked for volunteers to help with decorating the float.  He also asked for members to bring leftover Halloween candy so it and small flags can be handed out to the spectators along the parade route.

 

The President Nominating Committee made up of past presidents nominated Scott Moore to be President for the 2024/2025 Rotary year.

 

Doug Burton (new Finemaster?) levied fines.

 

 

Rotary Foundation Chair Ken Stuart and President Ryan presented a Paul Harris +5 pin to Bob Flautt.

 

 

Bob Flautt introduced our speaker, Kim Moore, Principal of Vista Del Lago High School.  Kim talked about the programs at the school and introduced Mark Kegan who talked about the athletic programs.  Mark also talked about the new Interact Club at Vista which had 35 students join.    

 

 

 

One of the club's Community Service Project this year was to re-roof the Twin Lakes Food Bank.  The club partnered with Straight Line Construction to lay down the shingles on Saturday, September 17.  Prior to the 17th, club members worked on the roof replacing dry rot and doing other repairs.  Here are photos of the project on the 17th.

The other club service project was to work with the Folsom Garden Club beautification project at the Robert H. Miller III Rotary Clubhouse.  Rik Bennett helped with that project.  Below is a photo of the volunteers at the clubhouse.
