This Valentine's Day, Hollywood meets Bollywood at the Folsom Community Center! Arthur Murray professionals will teach us how to dance. Non-dancing spectators welcome too!

Valentine's Party - Hollywood Meets Bollywood

Get ready for THE PARTY of the year - The Folsom Rotary's Valentine's Party 'Hollywood Meets Bollywood'.

Date & Time: Feb 13, 2025 starting at 6 PM (More details below)

Location: Folsom Community Center

Arthur Murray Instructors will teach us one hollywood dance (swing dance) and one bollywood dance and we get to perform at the end. Each member will choose either to be on the Hollywood side or Bollywood side.

On popular demand, we are also bringing a Henna artist for people who want to get to temporary tattoos on their hands with natural/organic Henna.

It is $20 per couple and they'll get Dinner, Drinks, Dance instructions, and Henna tattoos (if they want) for $20. 

Tentative Timeline:

Doors open at 6:00 PM

Henna stall open from 6:00 PM

Buffet Dinner open around 6:45 PM

Program starts around 7:15 PM (Starting 15 minutes earlier just to make sure we have enough time for logistics)

Dress code: No dress code per se but come dressed to have fun and dance. Party / Funky costumes all welcome. Please bring your sunglasses/dark shades )especially for Bollywood Dance) if you want to look cool.

This year she was named the Middle School Principal of the Year for the state of California. She also serves as the California state liaison to the National Association of Secondary School Principals and advocates as the state and federal levels on behalf of public school administrators and students.

In 2024, Shanna became a consultant for A Touch of Understanding, supporting their volunteer outreach efforts and helping to increase brand awareness.

30th Annual Dave West Partnerships for Tomorrow Youth Leadership Conference

Mentors needed! As a mentor, you will participate in the various discussions and activities alongside the students in your assigned group.  Being a mentor does not require any special skills or knowledge -- your life experiences and willingness to share it with the students and participate in the group discussions/activities is all that is needed.  Regardless of your vocation, or whether you are currently in the work force or retired, your participation is needed and appreciated, and the conference will benefit by your participation!

The conference will be on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Lakeside Church in Folsom.  It is anticipated the timeframe will be from 8:15 am - 3:00pm, but there may be slight changes as we continue to plan the event. 

A continental breakfast and a "working lunch" will be provided.   This is a wonderful opportunity to interact with some of the best and brightest students Folsom has to offer and to have a positive impact on those who will be leading our great country in future years.

Bus leaves promptly at 5:30 PM

Recommended layered dress for variable weather.

Charges: Only $50 per person

Only 56 seats on the bus and first come first served. The mystery trip has typically been sold out in the past years so act fast!!
