A Touch of Understanding (ATOU) provides disability awareness programs designed to educate a new generation to understand the challenges associated with disabilities and to accept and respect all individuals. Shanna Lowder brings over 20 years of experience across the corporate, public affairs, and non-profit sectors. In 2024, Shanna became a consultant for A Touch of Understanding, supporting their volunteer outreach efforts and helping to increase brand awareness.

Stop Stigma Sacramento seeks to reduce stigma and discrimination in Sacramento County by providing mental health information, resources and support to individuals and families. By educating the community on the facts about mental illness, we can eliminate the barriers people living with mental illness experience and provide a deeper understanding about mental health issues in general.

The Interact Clubs of Folsom High School and Vista del Lago High School will lead our meeting.

Kelly Larson, LMFT, is a licensed therapist, Director of Pacific Trauma Center and a certified Brainspotting Trainer in addition to offering individual and family therapy. She will share about trauma therapy and Brainspotting, a modality that has been proven to be effective at getting to the root of deep underlying trauma.

Habitat for Humanity Affordable Housing Developments in Folsom and Citrus Heights and Habitat's 40th Anniversary (1985-2025).

Jim and Kathy are both board members of Friends of Lakes Folsom and Natoma (FOLFAN) and will present on the bald eagles nesting over Lake Natoma since 2017 and the Lake Natoma Nursery and Gardens, including FOLFAN's partnership with Rotary.

Janet Bradley has dedicated the past five years of her career to serving as an animal control officer. Her role involves not only responding to calls about stray and injured animals but also educating the public about responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering. She is passionate about advocating for animal rights and ensuring the safety of both pets and the community.

Bus leaves promptly at 5:30 PM

Bus returns at approx. 10:00 PM

Recommended layered dress for variable weather.

Charges: Only $50 per person

Only 56 seats on the bus and first come first served. The mystery trip has typically been sold out in the past years so act fast!!

Jen Sparks is the Program Supervisor of Jobs for the Sacramento and San Francisco regions for Best Buddies International. Best Buddies is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to ending the social and economic isolation of people with an intellectual or developmental disability (IDD) through friendship programs and integrated employment programs. Jen will share more with us about the program.
