Meeting Notes from March 6, 2025
The meeting of March 6 was opened by President Ramesh Dontha at 7:00 pm. Paul Bonaventure led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
Secretary Jim Padgett introduced guests and visiting Rotarians.
President Lisa Ferro of the Rotary Club of Folsom Lake talked about a fund-raiser their club is having on May 26 with the Rotary Club of Historic Folsom. Below is the flyer for this event.
President Ramesh thanked John Messner and the Rotarians who built the gazebo at Black Miners Bar on March 2.
President Ramesh said the club has purchased work t-shirts. If you, as a member need a shirt, you can get one at no cost. If you want additional shirts, you need to purchase them.
President Ramesh reminded members of the Dragon Boat Races that will be on April 5. We have entered a team and if you want to be a rower this year, you can sign up at
Dragon Races. As of the meeting, there were only 2 spots left.
President Ramesh said third grade dictionaries have been completed at 6 schools with 7 more schools to go. There are deliveries this week including two on Friday afternoon at the same time. The last school will be on Tuesday, March 18. If you can volunteer this week, call Rich Pepin.
President Ramesh gave examples of how the Rotary Extended Family on WhatsApp may be used.

Vicki Bencken introduced our speaker, Kyle Draper, Play by Play announcer for the Sacramento Kings and Co-Host of The Drive Guys on Sactown Sports 1140. Kyle talked about his life and how he got into broadcasting. He also discussed the Sacramento Kings season and answered questions about his life journey and the Kings.
President Ramesh presented a box of chocolates that included a chocolate Rotary Wheel to Kyle for sharing his life story with us.
