President Scott Bailey’s Demotion June 25, 2026

Every Rotary president knows their term ends the same way: not with a quiet farewell, but with a well-earned demotion and a healthy dose of good-natured payback! In true Rotary Club of Folsom fashion, President Scott’s demotion was a Wild West adventure from start to finish.
The afternoon began when President Scott was rounded up by a posse of Rotarians and “abducted” from his home like a man who definitely should have seen it coming. After a quick stop at Visconti’s for cocktails for some liquid courage and a moment to contemplate his life choices, the adventure was officially underway.
From there, things took an unexpectedly literary turn. Few know that President Scott is the published author of the children’s book, “Tricky Tangles,” so of course the only logical next step was a surprise book signing at Ruby’s Books on Sutter Street, where he signed dozens of copies for his very real and very enthusiastic “fans.”
But the trail didn’t end there.
Next President Scott was tasked with earning his freedom (and paying off his fine at Rotary) by basking outside Snooks Candies and Chocolate Factory with a ukulele. There was just one small problem: he does not, in fact, play the ukulele. What followed was a feeble attempt at musical expression that can only be described as mildly alarming. After several well-intentioned attempts, a kind passerby finally contributed the five dollars required to end the performance.
Meanwhile, back at the Folsom Community Center, the Demotion Hoedown was already in full swing, just around the corner from the spirit of the Folsom Pro Rodeo itself. Line dancing, western flair, and the infamous “Drunken Burros” serving cocktails set the tone for the evening, with two very patient mini donkeys absolutely stealing the show!
And then came the grand entrance.
In true cowboy fashion, President Scott arrived on a “bull,” riding in like he had just turned the corner off the rodeo grounds and straight into his final act as president. He was greeted by Rotarians armed with confetti, silly string, and just enough organized chaos to keep things interesting.

After things settled down in the banquet room, Emcee Rob Ross opened the meeting and we sat down to a delicious taco dinner provided by our caterer, Brian Landon, and his wonderful crew.
After dinner, President Scott brought the meeting to order. He said that we initiated 11 members during 2025/2026. He also said that our club received a District 5180 award for the "Large Club of the Year" plus a few other awards at the District Conference. He recognized the Folsom Rotary Foundation Board members for their service to the club and he talked about all the projects that the club completed this year.
President Scott thanked his Board of Directors and presented to them small gifts for their service.
President Scott also thanked several other members of the club for outstanding service and presented each of them with a small gift.
At the end of the demotion, President Scott passed the torch by handing the microphone over to incoming President John Baciocco. Incoming President John introduced his Board of Directors and gave us a little insight into the upcoming 2026/2027 Rotary year.
