Meeting Notes from February 17, 2022
President Steve Brozosky opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
Secretary Jim Padgett introduced guests. Jim introduced our newest member, Jim Giottonini. Jim's Classification is Vision Insurance and his sponsor is John Abernethy. Jim, welcome to the club.
President Steve thanked Christopher Byrd, Rotarian from Thailand for visiting our club and volunteering on projects while he was here for the past few months.
Joe Gagliardi announced that we reached the goal of $2,000 for 25 mattresses for the school in Colima, Mexico.
We need 12 more mentors for the Partnership for Tomorrow Conference on March 15. If you can volunteer to be a mentor, contact Richelle Brooks or Rich Rider. Rich gave an overview of the conference including the value to students and mentors for participating.
Dictionaries have been distributed to third graders. President Steve thanked Rich Pepin and the members who helped him. Rich has been the chair of this project for many years and is looking for a member to replace him.
President Steve gave a presentation on Rotary structure from clubs to district to Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation. He and Sue Barrett presented Paul Harris pins to Frank Ali, Paul Harris +6; Vicki Bencken, Paul Harris +2; and John Abernethy, Paul Harris+8
Bob Flautt introduced our speaker, Tim Pinkney, NASA Solar System Ambassador. Tim is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Sacramento. Tim's presentation was about the Webb Space Telescope.
President Steve presented the Rotary Wheel chocolate from Snook's to Tim.
