The meeting of August 6 was brought to order at 7 pm by President John Baciocco. Frank Woods led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
There were no visitors.
President John thanked Charlie Grows for hosting the Fifth Thursday meeting on July 30 at Uncle Charlie's Firehouse and Brew. He also thanked Jim Howe, Conni Thompson, and Chuck Thompson for trimming trees and shrubs at Candy Miller's home. (President John put the wrong name on the slide.)
President John talked about upcoming meetings and events for August, September, and October.
Samantha Davidson talked about Oktoberfest. She said that an email would be out next week about sponsorships and another email the following week about silent auction items. She asked that all members do what they can to get sponsorships and provide silent auction items.
Chuck Thompson talked about our Community Service Day Projects for September 19. He circulated sign-up sheets for spreading bark at the Folsom Rotary Clubhouse and for doing projects at Folsom's Hope (Mt. Olive Church) on the playground and shade structure.
Ramesh Dontha levied fines.
Our program for the evening was Travel Trivia hosted by our own Travel Advisor, Dawn Johnson. Each table was a team. There were three sets of 10 questions each. After each set of questions, Dawn gave us the answers, and we corrected our own answers and tallied up the score (Four-Way Test applied). After three sets were scored, the scores from each were added up and prizes were given to the first and second tables. A prize was also given to the best (I am not sure, it might have been the worst.) dressed traveler.
Best dressed traveler, Past President Scott Bailey. He was also wearing flippers.
First Place Table.
Second Place Table.
Thanks to Dawn for a fun evening and providing enough gifts that Scott and everyone at each winning table went home with a travel gift.
