The meeting of August 13 was brought to order at 7 pm by President John Baciocco. Mike Huot led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
Secretary Jim Padgett introduced visitors and visiting Rotarians.
Leslie Cope sent around a sign-up sheet for Folsom Rotary work shirts. If you need a shirt, contact Leslie.
District Governor Nominee Ryan Jantzen talked about the Blood Drive on October 15.
Samantha Davidson talked about Oktoberfest. She asked for member's money, member's time, and member donations for silent auction items. This is a major fund-raiser for our club and we need every member to help make it a successful event.
Connie Thompson talked about our Community Service Day Projects for September 19. Chuck Thompson sent out an email to all members on August 18 that outlines the two projects that we are doing on September 19, Community Service Day. Please refer to the email for important information if you signed up for one of the projects.
Chuck Thompson presented an idea for a potential club project. He called the project "Rotary Legacy Flag Project". Our Historic District does not have a flag anywhere and the District would like to have one. This project will probably include fund raising to purchase a flagpole and then we would install it.
The Rotary Club of Folsom recognized two members with Paul Harris Fellow honors, one of Rotary’s most meaningful recognitions.
A Paul Harris Fellow recognizes support of The Rotary Foundation and the humanitarian work it makes possible around the world. Each Paul Harris Fellow level represents $1,000 in cumulative contributions to the Foundation, with additional recognition earned for each additional $1,000.
Congratulations to John Kemp, Paul Harris Fellow +3, in recognition of his extraordinary commitment to Rotary and the Folsom community. A member of the Rotary Club of Folsom for nearly 42 years, John has dedicated decades to service, leadership, and making a difference in the community he calls home. His contributions extend well beyond Rotary, including his involvement with the Folsom Historical Society, Folsom Chamber of Commerce, youth athletics, and numerous community initiatives. His impact on Folsom is perhaps most visibly honored through John Kemp Community Park, which bears his name and continues to serve generations of local families. We are grateful for John’s remarkable legacy of service and his many years of making a lasting impact through Rotary.
We also congratulate Peter Evenhuis, Paul Harris Fellow +1, in recognition of his commitment to Rotary and The Rotary Foundation. A member of the Rotary Club of Folsom for over three years, Peter brings a unique international perspective to Rotary, splitting his time between the United States and South Africa, where he is also involved with Rotary. A retired hospitality professional, Peter continues to bring his experience, generosity, and spirit of service to our club and to the Rotary community wherever he is.

President John introduced a new game called "Two Truths and a Lie". He put up two truths and a lie for Rich Rider, Mike Huot, and Henry Sundermier. We had to guess the lie for each member. It was fun.
Brian Martell levied fines and we thought he was the speaker as he told a lengthy story on Bob Blackwell.
Paul Bonaventure introduced our speaker, Folsom Fire Chief Jason Solak. Fire Chief Solak said he was going to talk about wildfires but instead his presentation was about The Single-Role Transport Program - Strengthening emergency medical response and restoring fire suppression
At the end of Fire Chief Solak's presentation, President John presented a box of chocolates from Snook's that includes a chocolate Rotary Wheel.
