Meeting Notes from February 27, 2025
The meeting of February 27 was opened by President Ramesh Dontha at 7:00 pm. Bill Hutto led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
Secretary Jim Padgett introduced guests and visiting Rotarians. The Snook family attended the meeting. Their granddaughter, Grace Vierra, told us about a market swine named Dolly that she is raising. Grace is 12 years old, is a member of Sacramento Barnyard Bidders, and talked about raising Dolly and the costs involved. She asked for donations to help her raise Dolly and the suggestion was made to give her the fines that would be collected this evening. Everyone agreed and she received several hundred dollars at the end of the meeting. Henry Sundermier bought the bar in celebration of his successful surgery.
Henry reminded the members of the March 1 Community Service project which is to complete the work on the gazebo at Black Miners Bar.
President Ramesh thanked Toby Magarian and the organizing committee for doing a great job on the 30th Annual Dave West Partnerships for Tomorrow Leadership Conference. He also thanked the Facilitators and Mentors from the club for participating.
President Ramesh said the dictionary project of delivering dictionaries to third graders had started and will continue for two weeks. There are openings available next week. If you can volunteer in the afternoons at 2 pm, call Rich Pepin about openings or talk to him at the meeting on Thursday, March 6.
President Ramesh talked about the Joint District 5180 and 5300 Conference on April 12 at Disneyland.

A Touch of Understanding (ATOU) provides disability awareness programs designed to educate a new generation to understand the challenges associated with disabilities and to accept and respect all individuals. The mission of A Touch of Understanding is to encourage acceptance and respect for all individuals and to minimize the discrimination, bullying and misunderstanding experienced by children and adults who are perceived as different for any reason, but especially those with disabilities. If you were not at the meeting and would like to know more about ATOU, visit their website A Touch of Understanding.
