Prost to Community Fun!
Oktoberfest 2025 – October 26, 3–7 PM

What a wunderbar time! Beer, brats, and pretzels galore — plus some seriously impressive beer stein holding, yodeling, and chicken dancing skills on display!
The Rotary Club of Folsom’s annual Oktoberfest fundraiser was a true celebration of community. This year, we were joined by friends from the Folsom Lake Rotary Club, and the energy, costumes, and full embrace of the Oktoberfest spirit made the afternoon enjoyable for everyone involved.

The success of the event was made possible by our amazing sponsors, community supporters, and volunteers — a perfect example of Rotary in action: connecting people, strengthening community, and creating positive change. Plans are already underway, and everyone is looking forward to next year’s Oktoberfest!

Building Futures Together
Last week, the Rotary Club of Folsom was honored to welcome John Hershey from UA Local 447 as our guest speaker.
With more than a decade of experience in the construction industry, John leads efforts to create meaningful career pathways in the skilled trades. He shared how UA Local 447’s hands-on apprenticeship programs, educational outreach, and community partnerships are helping individuals build successful futures.
From classroom engagement and youth mentorship to veterans’ training programs, UA Local 447’s work is making a significant impact throughout our region.
We extend our sincere thanks to John for joining us and for his dedication to building opportunity and strengthening our communities.

Rotarians in Action – Building the Jail for Folsom History’s Haunted House
A crew of Rotarians were hard at work this month helping Folsom History prepare for its Haunted History experience. Our team built the jail for Folsom History’s outdoor Haunted House, adding a touch of historic “Rotary craftsmanship” to the spooky streets of Old Folsom.
The event brought local history to life in a fun and creative way, and the project was a wonderful example of community collaboration.
Club Announcements:

Fifth Thursday Event – Thursday, October 30
This week there is no regular meeting, but we are having a Spooktacular Halloween Party at 6:30 PM. Dinner, costume contests, and music bingo will be part of the evening. Costumes are encouraged, but not required.

No Regular Meeting – Thursday, November 6
Due to clubhouse construction, the regular meeting on November 6 is cancelled. District Governor Megan Ellinghouse’s scheduled talk is now postponed to January 22, 2026.
President Scott will still hold a board meeting at 5:30 PM (location TBD). John Baciocco, Oktoberfest chair, will be leading a debriefing to review the event. A survey will also be going out to members to gather feedback about Oktoberfest, and you are encouraged to reach out to John with any thoughts, comments, or suggestions prior to the board meeting.
Celebrating a Century of Service
Rotary Club of Lincoln – 100-Year Celebration
This Saturday, November 1, the Rotary Club of Lincoln will celebrate 100 years of Service Above Self! Their centennial event promises to capture the elegance and energy of the Roaring 20s — jazz, champagne, and flapper glamour all around.
The club has made a remarkable impact over the past century, and we look forward to seeing them continue their service in the years ahead.
Rotary Reflection:
Events like our Oktoberfest remind us of the power of collaboration. Every person who contributes — whether through planning, volunteering, or participating in and supporting the event — helps create something special.
It’s the camaraderie, the teamwork, and the shared commitment to our community that make these experiences meaningful. Together, we are #BetterTogether, and when we #UniteForGood, incredible things happen.
