On the fifth Thursday of the month, the Rotary Club of Folsom holds a social meeting away from the clubhouse with no club business. On Thursday, July 30, the meeting was held at Uncle Charlie's Firehouse and Brew. A taco bar was provided by Sutter Street Taqueria. Beer, wine, and sodas were served. Members and guests played Bingo after dinner and winners were awarded prizes.

Our exchange student, Amélie Mäder from Switzerland, arrived in Folsom yesterday, August 2.  The first two host families as well as RYE District Inbound Coordinator Jeannine Sparks, Vicki Bencken, and I were there to meet her at the Sacramento International Airport.   It was a fun and lively reception for Amélie, who we all found sweet and engaging.   Amélie will be joining us at a future Rotary meeting soon.

Tom Conway was a member of our club from 1985 until April 2012 when he and his wife Linda moved to Arizona. Tom passed away on July 23, 2026. He was very active in our club and was the Chairperson of the Folsom Rotary Breakout Car Show every year that we had the car show. The Breakout was a major fund raiser for 10 years. Tom was a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a Paul Harris Sustaining Member.
