Meeting Notes from December 10, 2020

President Monika Reyes opened the meeting around 7 pm.  I don't know the exact time because I missed the meeting.  President Monika emailed to me the PowerPoint presentation so that is my notes for the meeting.

President Monika asked the members to reserve Monday, March 1, 2021 for a virtual Partners for Tomorrow Conference with Folsom High School Juniors.  Rich Rider is looking for Folsom Club members to sign-up to be mentors.  Please call or email him if you are interested.

Ryan Jantzen was nominated to be President of the club in 2022/2023 by the Past President Nominating Committee.  There were no nominations from the floor so Ryan was elected by acclamation.

There will not be meetings on Thursday, December 24 or Thursday, December 31.  Our last meeting of 2020 is tonight on ZOOM.

Tonight we will have a special guest speaker who you won't want to miss.  Dr. Eileen Hilton, MD, is joining us from Honolulu, Hawaii.  She is an internationally recognized infectious disease clinician, professor and researcher.  She will be presenting on the Covid-19 virus and vaccines - super timely given recent events! Dr. Hilton is also open to answering your questions following her presentation.  President Monika said, "This is a truly unique opportunity, and in appreciation and respect of her time, I'd love for her to see the Zoom screen packed with Rotarians."  Make President Monika proud by joining us tonight.

A reminder of the log-in and dial-in instructions are below.

Yesterday, Justin Raithel sent out an email asking for volunteers for a small project this weekend.  Here is his request.

This weekend we'll be helping out a senior repair her front bed which is spilling out into the street. The work will be outside and I'll just need a small group on Saturday morning (9 am) and a small group on Sunday afternoon (1 pm)If you can join me at either of these times, could you please reply to this email and let me know?

Saturday plan is to move dirt back, break out posts and concrete in new posts - estimated 2 hours of work if we have 5 volunteers. Sunday plan will be to screw in new wall to posts and backfill the dirt - estimated 1 hour of work if we have 5 volunteers.

Also, put Saturday, January 9th on your calendar for a possible club project.
