Meeting Notes from July 11,2024
 
The meeting was opened by President Ramesh Dontha leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
 
President Ramesh announced that Bob Flautt, Steve Brozosky, and Irv Dickson have resigned from the club.
 
Paul Bonaventure reported that the fireworks booth sold $95,636 gross. He thanked those who worked one or more shifts in the booth and gave a special thank you to the setup and break down crew that included John Messner, Dave Doherty, Chuck Thurman, Robert Comper, Len Hundshamer, and Bob Flautt. President Ramesh thanked Paul for his hard work leading the fireworks again.
 
President Ramesh also thanked Justin Raithel and Bill Hutto for leading the beer booth at the Folsom Rodeo. He also thanked the members who worked a shift in the booth.
 
Henry Sundermier announced that Have Mercy will be playing at Crawdads on the Lake on Saturday, August 24 to raise funds for Powerhouse Ministries. Here is the flyer promoting this fundraiser.
 
 
Olga Garton talked about a School Supply Drive for Folsom Cordova Unified School District. She will be collecting the following supplies until July 24th. Please bring your donations to club meetings before July 24. The Club Board of Directors voted to make a donation.
 
 
Frank Ali talked about Oktoberfest scheduled for October 27 at the Folsom Community Center in partnership with the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks. Scott Moore asked for donations of empty growler bottles to be used for decorations.
 
President Ramesh reminded members that Thursday, July 18 is Club Assembly Bollywood Style.
 
Jim Ortega levied fines.
 
Vicki Bencken introduced our speaker, Josh Morgan, author of The Folsom Prison Bloody 13, The Big Escape of 1903. Josh spoke about the book and what Folsom Prison was like 120 years ago. President Ramesh presented a Snook's chocolate Rotary Wheel to Josh as a thank you for his presentation.

Sheriff's Rodeo Beer Booth
 
This year the Sheriff's Department sponsored a rodeo on Saturday, July 6 following the Folsom Rodeo. Vicki Benken posted this photo of the great group selling beer with a temperature of 112 at the peak.
