President Ryan Jantzen opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance.  Bob Mange gave the Invocation.

 

Secretary Jim Padgett introduced guests and visiting Rotarians.  He announced that Candy Miller bought the bar and read a thank you note from Candy for the work that was done by Rotarians at her house recently.  Thank you, Candy.

 

District Conference will be at the Folsom Community Center on May 6 and 7.  May 5th Friday night's event is wine tasting at Miners Leap Winery in Clarksburg.  The district speech contest will be at the Folsom Rotary Clubhouse on Saturday morning, May 6.  For more information on the conference, go to rotary5180.org.  To register for the conference, scroll down the page and click on the link under Conference Registration.

 

District 5180 Assembly for new officers will be at Elk Grove High School on April 22 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.  To register for the assembly, go to District Assembly on the District 5180 website.  All Rotarians are invited.  The District Assembly is a good place for new members to meet members from other clubs in the district and learn more about Rotary.  The assembly will have several breakout sessions on different topics about Rotary.

 

Frank Ali gave an update on Oktoberfest.  The Oktoberfest committee met before the regular meeting and they could use more help in planning for the event.  All members of the club will be asked to work at the event and to either purchase and/or sell 4 tickets to the event.

 

Frank is really into Oktoberfest!

 

President Ryan inducted a new member, Ravi Kahlon, into the club.  Ravi was sponsored by Henry Sundermier and her classification is Urban Development.  Please welcome Ravi to the club.

 

 

Incoming President Justin Raithel will preside over the meeting April 6 as President Ryan will be out of town.

 

Doug Burtin levied fines.

 

 

President Ryan introduced our speaker, Dr. Art Pimintel, President of Folsom Lake College.  Dr. Pimintel has only been president for three months but he gave us a good update on what's happening at the college and plans for the future of the college.  President Ryan presented a Snook's chocolate Rotary wheel to Dr. Pimintel as a thank you gift.
