Meeting Notes from August 25, 2022
The meeting was opened at 7 pm by several members ringing cow bells and leading the Pledge 0f Allegiance. Bob Mange gave the Invocation. The club bell is still somewhere in the district. Even the bell from the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks that President Ryan Jantzen used last week was gone. We are definitely experiending the "Mystery of the Bells".
Jim Padgett introduced visiting Rotarians and guests. Rich Rider introduced our inbound Rotary Youth Exchange Student from Belgium, Axelle Verbist. Rich also introduced former exchange student from Austria, Elisa and her friend Benni.
Richelle Brooks and President Ryan met with the principal of Vista High School and our club will sponsor an Interact Club there. We will also include Vista High students in future leadership conferences.
Community Service Day is coming up on September 17 with club projects at Twin Lakes Food Bank and the Robert E. Miller III Folsom Rotary Clubhouse.
If you donate blood, our club number for receiving credit for your donation is #3790.
The District 5180 Rotary Foundation Dinner is September 17 from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Sacramento Doubletree. We have two tables. If you want to attend, see President Ryan, Ken Stuart, or John Messner.
The Folsom Rotary Foundation recently received a $200 donation from the Cantor family in honor of Marilyn Econome.
Fines were levied by Joe and Bob Hoffman.
Our speaker was Brian Dulgar, Director of the Sacramento State Aquatic Center. He gave us the history of the aquatic center and talked about activities there now.
