President Ryan requested volunteers to join the committee to put on "Oktoberfest in June" on Sunday, June 4 from 3 pm to 7 pm.  There will be a committee meeting on Thursday, March 30 at 5:45 at the Folsom Club House.  The committee needs help in planning the event and at the event including alcohol sales, cooking, ticket sales, and silent auction.  If you want to join the committee, come to the committee meeting on March 30 or talk to Frank Ali.

We also need a volunteer to lead a committee for the Folsom Hometown Parade in Old Folsom on June 23.  If you want to be chair of the committee, contact President Ryan.

Rotary District 5180 "Day of Service" for every club in the District is on April 15.  Put it on your calendar and look for an email in the near future listing what our club is doing.

We now sponsor two Interact Clubs.  We have sponsored the Folsom High Interact Club for many years and this year sponsored a new Interact Club at Vista Del Lago High.  Interact is for young people ages 12 to 18 who come together to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of "Service Above Self" through community and international service projects.

The charter for the new club at Vista was presented by Interact Rotary Advisor Rich Pepin, Mahathi Karra, member of the Folsom High Interact Club and District 5180 Interact Governor, Megan Ellinghouse, District 5180 Governor Designate, and President Ryan.  The recipients of the charter were Leelu Throppireddy and Austin Hoekstra.

Rich, Megan, Mahathi, President Ryan, Leelu, and Austin

Prior to the presentation of the charter, Mahathi told us that the Folsom High Interact Club has 200 members and does not have a school advisor.  They are getting along fine and are very active.  Leelu and Austin told us that the Vista High Interact Club participated with Folsom Interact at the Veterans Day Parade and an elementary school fair.  As most of the members of the Vista Interact Club are also basketball players and the season is over, they plan to do more projects.

Jim Ortega introduced our guest speaker, Thiel Ho, Sacramento County District Attorney.  At the end of District Attorney Ho's talk, President Ryan gave him the Rotary Wheel Chocolate from Snook's as a thank you gift.
