The meeting of August 20 was brought to order at 7 pm by President John Baciocco. Henry Sundermier led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
Secretary Jim Padgett introduced visitors and visiting Rotarians.
President John thanked Scott Moore and Colnn Miguelgorry for leading the beer booth at the Renaissance Faire on October 3rd and 4th. Gross beer sales were about $35,800 and tips were $2,547. Needless to say, it was a successful event. He also thanked the Rotarians and spouses who served beer.

Under Community Service, Conni Thompson announced the three tiny homes are now in place at Mt. Olive Church.
Samantha Davidson asked members to sell, sell, sell tickets and she encouraged each member to sell or buy four tickets. For the silent auction, all items have been received. The volunteer sign-up sheet will be passed around again at this week’s meeting. Find a shift that works for you and sign up to be part of Oktoberfest!
Chuck and Conni Thompson talked about the "Rotary Legacy Flag Project". Conni said we are really close to our fund-raising goal and donations will be cutoff on October 15. Extra money will go to maintenance.
Volunteers are still needed for the Soap Box Derby.
President John talked about the Veterans Day Parade and asked members to save left0ver candy and bring it to the parade. Bill Hutto talked about the parade float which will not be MASH this year.
President John reminded everyone about the Blood Drive on October 15. We need more signups!
The "Two Truths and a Lie" members this week were Chuck Thompson, Bob Mange, and Anna Rohrbough.

Tara Abraham introduced our speaker, Sarah Smernes Edson, Director of Fund and Business Development at Child Action. Child Action is a private, non-profit resource and referral agency in Rancho Cordova that has supported families and care providers across Sacramento County since 1976. Their mission is empowering families and child care professionals with tools, resources, and support services to help children thrive. Sarah went into details about the services that the organization provides. President John presented a box of Snook's chocolate with a Rotary Wheel in it to Sarah for sharing Child Action with us.
