Meeting Notes from February 4, 2021
President Monika Reyes opened the virtual meeting of February 4 at 7:04 pm. There were 30 participants on ZOOM. Guests Martina Mason and Karen Cendro introduced themselves. Martina is a friend of Steve Sprague who recently joined a Rotary club in Florida. She attended our meeting as part of her orientation to receive her blue badge. Karen is the District 5180 Governor Nominee for 2022/23. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Laguna Sunrise. Karen is looking for volunteers to be on her Board of Directors and committees.
The Powerhouse Ministries shed project with Justin Raithel will now be on Saturday, February 20.
President Monika presented a Paul Harris +5 pin to Dr. Sue Barrett.
Instead of levying fines, Steve Sprague told family friendly jokes.
Our program for the meeting was a presentation about Hands4Hope. Speakers included Jennifer Bassett, Founder/Executive Director, Kathy Van Saun, Education Program Coordinator, Nivi Kumar, student at Vista Del Lago High School, and Elise Taylor, student at Folsom High School. According to their website, "Our primary objective is to enable youth to make a difference in their communities and offer meaningful community service projects combined with instruction and reflection, school-based clubs, and diverse leadership opportunities. Youth are able to decide their own level of involvement." There are clubs at Folsom Middle School and Folsom High School. For more information about Hands4Hope, click on

Our next meeting will be on February 18 at 7pm via ZOOM. We will get an update on the Peru Community Kitchen Project and our program will be about WeEMBRACE.
