Meeting Notes from August 28, 2025
The meeting of August 28 was "Old Timers Night" and was opened by President Scott Bailey at 7 pm. President Scott led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation. Ramesh Dontha presented a member profile of Kevin Goddard. To see Kevin's profile, go to

Secretary Jim Padgett introduced guests. Thanks to Pat Geary for buying the bar.
President Scott showed a slide of upcoming events:
President Scott highlighted fifth Thursday in October with a costume party at Uncle Charlie's. The Veterans Day float will be MASH theme again this year. Members are encouraged to wear Scottish kilts to the Holiday Party in December.
John Baciocco talked about Oktoberfest. Ticket sales are slow but we have two months to go. SELL, SELL, SELL!!! He asked the members to provide baskets for the silent auction. Items should be $75 to $100 or more and he encouraged working together to get higher value items. Our club will be going to other clubs to sell tickets. Our club event was also in the recent District 5180 Newsletter.
Henry Sundermier talked about projects. The club project to landscape at Granite School on September 20 will receive a $5,000 grant from the Rotary Foundation through a District 5180 District Grant, $5,000 from the city, and $5,000 from our club.
On September, 20, 2025, the Rotary Club of Historic Folsom will present a Beatles Tribute by the Sun Kings at Zittle Family Amphitheater. This is a fund-raiser for their club. For more information and tickets, go to

President Scott talked about a District 5180 Leadership Training event on October 11 and 12, 2025 taught by Ryan Jantzen. This event is called PeRLS (Practical Relevant Leadership Skills) from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm each day at Sierra College in Rocklin. Cost is $150 which includes morning coffee and pastries, lunch both days, and all session materials. The club will pay half the cost. If you are interested in attending, talk to President Scott.

The program was the Old Timers. There were 5 former members and 2 "Rule of 85" members who attended the meeting. To become a "Rule of 85" member you have to have a combined age and years in Rotary of 85 or greater. As a "Rule of 85", you are exempt from attending meetings.
