The meeting opened with a Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation.

Secretary Jim Padgett introduced the guests. Secretary also mentioned that Trudy Nygren resigned from the club as she moved to Truckee.

Folsom Rotary Foundation President Doug Burton mentioned that there is a vacancy for Foundation Trustee position as Trudy was also the Secretary for the Folsom Rotary Foundation. He asked members to apply for the Trustee position that ends on June 2026. Doug has received one nomination so far and there will be a special election if there is more than one candidate. Interested members should reach out to Secretary Jim Padgett OR Foundation President Doug Burton.

Renaissance Faire successfully completed on September 28 and 29 and club members had fun while serving the patrons. All the photos are here and some sample photos are below. Highlight was the special serving table that was conceived by event co-chair Colnn and built by Dan Nitz. Great job by co-chairs Colnn Miguelgorry and Scott Morre and all the volunteers.

Our club's major community project funded partially with a District grant is building 9 benches for the Pickleball courts in Lembi park. Community Services Chair led the teams to unload/load the materials and assemble them at Lembi park over a couple of days. All the assembled benches will be installed by the contract crew once the concrete is poured (most likely this Wednesday i.e. October 2nd). Some sample photos below and the entire album is here.

Folsom Historic Society and Rotary Club of Historic Folsom are doing a fundraiser on October 4 with a Garrat Wilkins Parrotheads band at Zittel Amphitheatre. Club Co-President Chick Thompson visited our club to thank the members who purchased the tickets.

Rotary District 5180 Foundation Dinner is on October 19 in Sacramento. Club is subsdizing the $80 by 50% as was done in the past. Club bought 2 tables of 8 people each and so far 15 members have signed up with one last seat.

Regarding Octoberfest on October 27, Scott Moore mentioned that ticket sales are growing steadily and he wanted the members to let people know about the Octoberfest as it is a major fundraiser. Regarding sponsorships, let Jay Ailing know and Solomon Chis and Fubara Jack are coordinating the silent auction items.

Ryan Jantzen administered the fines.

Featured speaker was Colonel Joe Scheimer, Retired US Air Force and Rotarian from Fair Oaks Rotary. Joe talked about his involvement in the Vietnam War and the CIA's Secret War in Laos and the audience were spellbound with stories of audacity and adventure.

Meeting was adjourned after the presentation.
