Meeting Notes from May 1, 2025
The meeting was opened by President Ramesh Dontha at 7 pm. John Abernethy led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
Secretary Jim Padgett introduced guests and visiting Rotarians. Special guests included District Governor Steve Turner, District Governor Elect Megan Ellinghouse, and District Governor Nominee Dave Veden. Ryan Jantzen bought the bar.
Samatha Davidson was inducted into the club by District Governor Steve Turner. Samatha was a member and has returned after an absence of a few years. Welcome back!

President Ramesh thanked the Rotarians who helped run the bar at the HART fundraiser.
Jim Ortega asked for volunteers to work at the Folsom High School Sober Grad night. Volunteers can work at the party and/or setup and/or take down decorations. If you can volunteer, contact Jim.
Scott Bailey reminded everyone of the Mystery Trip on Thursday, May 15. Spots are still available and you can register at

Doug Burton, President of the Folsom Rotary Foundation reminded the members that we need to elect two members to the Foundation Board as Trustees of the Board. Doug sent an email to all members on April 28 explaining the responsibilities of the Trustees and who they currently are. If you would like to be a Trustee, contact Doug. There will be an election for the two Trustees at our meeting on Thursday, May 21.
President Ramesh announced that Al Stehli will visit the club on May 8.

Vicki Bencken introduced our speakers, Karen Shaffer and Kathy Turner. Karen is the Membership Coordinator for FOLFAN and Kathy is a docent for the Bald Eagle Interpretive Program. FOLFAN stands for Friends of Lake Folsom and Natoma. Karen talked about what the FOLFAN organization is and what they do. She thanked our club for building the greenhouse, shade cover, and gazebo at the Lake Natoma Nursery and Garden. Kathy talked about the eagle nest at Lake Natoma.
