The meeting of December 19 was opened by President Ramesh Dontha at 7 pm. President Ramesh led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation.

 

Secretary Jim Padgett introduced guests and visiting Rotarians. He thanked Jerry Avila for buying the bar to celebrate his 50th Anniversary to Patti.

 

President Ramesh announced that the 5th Thursday Outing will be on January 30, 2025 at Dave & Buster's. Registration will be $30 per person for dinner, first drink, and arcade credits. Online registration is available on our website at Dave & Buster's. 

 

Dave Boldt passed away on December 13. Dave joined our club in 2006 and was President for the  2018/2019 Rotary year. Secretary Jim, Dave's friend for 35 years, gave a eulogy to Dave. President Ramesh presented Dave Boldt - Celebration of Life which can be viewed at Dave Boldt. Dave's sons Jason and Josh from South Lake Tahoe were at the meeting. Former members Jay Freeman and Steve Miklos who played in a band with Dave were also at the meeting. There will be a service for Dave in January.

 

 

President Ramesh introduced our speakers, John Messner and Frank Woods. His introductions were very funny. John and Frank presented slides of their Rotary trip to South Africa.

 

President Ramesh presented a box of Snook's chocolate that includes a chocolate Rotary Wheel to John and Frank.

On Saturday, December 21, members of our club, spouses, partners, and friends sang Christmas songs at the Folsom Zoo Wild Nights and Holiday Lights from 5 pm to 7 pm.
