June 19th was the Demotion Day for President Ramesh held at the Folsom Community Center.

 

Before the actual event, President Ramesh was picked up from his home (kicking and screaming) by Justin Raithel.

 

Tim Hughes, Rich Rider, Josh Brannan, and Justin Raithel accompanied him in the van to his first surprise stop, Mode Brewery in Orangevale. Few other Rotarians as shown below were waiting for him at the brewery.  

 

After tricking Ramesh that they are heading over to another bar, Justin and the team took him to a podcast recording studio. As Ramesh himself is a podcast host, he felt comfortable to be a guest on this show and talk about his past year as the Rotary club President and the accomplishments. Justin also joined as a guest and gave his perspective. The final edited podcast recording will be available within a week.

 

 

After the podcast recording, the team took Ramesh to surprise stop # 3, Ruby's Books on Sutter Street where a large group were waiting to get Ramesh's previously published best-selling books (The 60 Minute Startup, The 60 Minute Tech Startup, The 60 Minute Podcast Startup) signed by him. The group also included many non-Rotarians, City Manager Bryan Whitemeyer and Ramesh's personal friends. 

 

    

 

The next stop was the Folsom Community Center where approximately 90 people were waiting for the Maharaja. Ramesh was welcomed with live Bollywood band and elephant. Ramesh's wife Sunanda, Usha Chenna and other family members helped dress up the guests prior to Ramesh's arrival.

 

   

 

 

Ramesh's nieces (ages 6 to 10) performed Indian dance welcoming Ramesh. After dinner, Justin went over 'Get to know Ramesh Dontha' slides. These can be accessed here.  

 

Justin then read the commendation letter from Rosario Rodriguez

 

 

Ramesh then reviewed year end accomplishments which can be accessed here. Ramesh also recognized Rotarians of the year, Board members, and key people who stepped up and gave them gift bags with Indian handicrafts.

Ramesh then played a transition skit video that President Elect Scott Bailey and President Ramesh did it together. After that, President Elect Scott Bailey introduced his board which included Bill Hutto, Anna Rohrbough, and Brian Martell as the new faces.

 

Then the dance floor was open for all. Meeting concluded at 10 PM.
