The meeting was opened by President Monika Reyes at 7:06 pm.  There were only 18 participants at this ZOOM meeting.  Where were you?  Our previous ZOOM meetings had 35 to 36 participants.  Please join us at our next meeting on August 6.  We will have a webinar presented by Chris Shuba, founder and CEO of Helios Quantitative Research for a deep dive on the effects of COVID, the markets, and where we might be headed going forward.  President Monika sent out an email on July 27 with the link to this ZOOM meeting.

 

It was announced that the net for fireworks to the Folsom Rotary Foundation is about $30,000.

 

President Monika talked about the November 15 speaking event with Brian Shul, retired SR71 pilot.  Chuck and Connie Thompson are working on an implementation plan for this event.  Chuck said that we will need members to work that evening doing on-site ticket sales and the sale of raffle tickets.  Help the club by soliciting sponsors.  Tickets for the event will be $40.

 

The Folsom Rotary Clubhouse will be closed through August so ZOOM meetings will continue.

 

President Monika talked about "Touch Base Calls".  Not all of our members are attending ZOOM meetings so the board decided that contacting members that we haven't heard from during the past few months would be a good idea.  Patricia Saylor and Amber Wheat volunteered to work on this project.  If you would like to help, contact Patricia or Amber.

 

Steve Sprague assessed fines at this meeting and asked Secretary Jim Padgett to put them on the member's next invoice.

 

You can view the slides that President Monika displayed at the July 23 meeting on our website at July 23 meeting.  One of the slides asked members, if they wish, to support a Go Fund Me account set up for Steve (Woody) and Lisa Petkovich.  Woody barbequed many club dinners for us.  The Go Fund Me account is for a fire recovery fund as their house was recently destroyed by fire.
