Meeting Notes from October 10, 2024

The meeting of October 10 was opened by President Ramesh at 7 pm. President Ramesh led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
Secretary Jim Padgett introduced guests.
President Ramesh talked about an opportunity to participate in Rotoplast mission in Bangalore, India from November 30, 2024 to December 13, 2024. District Governor Steve Turner is leading a team of 8 non-medical members to assist the medical team led by UC Davis professionals. Since the meeting, Rich Rider and Vicki Bencken have signed up to go on this mission. And couple of other members also expressed interest but the team is fully staffed so they are on standby list.
Community Services Director Henry Sundermier mentioned that the Black Miners bar FOLFAN project will be completed on October 19 at either 8 AM or 9 AM depending on the weather. Henry asked as many members as possible to join (whether they participated in the past or not) the completion of this phase to celebrate the milestone. Henry also mentioned that the Pickleball court bench project was not completely done as some defective benches were being replaced by the manufacturer. Henry will let the members know about a future date.
Oktoberfest is coming up on October 27 and Frank Ali encouraged members to sell tickets to Oktoberfest. Scott Moore has tickets or tickets can be purchased online. We still need silent auction items.
President Ramesh mentioned that the Veterans Day parade will be on November 11 and requested members to bring unused Halloween Candy to bring to the club so the candy can be distributed along the parade.
Dawn Johnson mentioned that the Holiday party will be on December 12 at the Community Center. The theme is to dress up as your favorite Christmas (Holiday) movie character.

Vicki Bencken introduced our speaker, Kelly Siefkin, Chief Philanthropy Officer, Sacramento Regional Community Foundation. Kelly talked about the Community Foundation's mission and how it works with local agencies to deliver to their mission.
President Ramesh presented a chocolate Rotary Wheel from Snookâs to Kelly for speaking to us.
