Meeting Notes from October 9, 2025
The meeting of October 9 was opened by President Scott Bailey at 7 pm. President Scott led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
Secretary Jim Padgett introduced guests and visiting Rotarians.
John Baciocco talked about the Oktoberfest coming up on October 26. He asked the members to sell, sell, sell tickets. If you have tickets that you will not use, give them to someone who will come to the event. He said they are still taking donations for silent auction. Also, we need volunteers to fill some of the empty slots on the sign-up sheet. Mark needs help with setting up the bar on Sunday morning. Lastly, we are serving coffee this year and looking for large party coffee pots. If you have one and can provide it for the event, contact John Baciocco.
President Scott advised the members that email scams may hit your inbox looking like they came from District 5180 or our club. Be aware that these emails may even include our Treasurer name, Olga Garton.
President Scott reminded the members about the 5th Thursday Party this month, October 30, at the Robert H. Miller III Folsom Rotary Clubhouse. If you are planning to attend, let Secretary Jim know that you are coming and if you are bringing a guest.
Assistant Governor Ryan Jantzen inducted Gul Khan into our club as our newest member. Gul is from Pakistan and runs a software company. He has three children, two in college and one in high school. He joined the club because he is interested in community service. He ran for city council in the last election. He serves the community as a member of CAPS ( Citizens Assisting Public Safety).
Henry Sundermier shared his slide of projects again but with one change. The project to build the Halloween Jail was moved from Saturday, October 11 to Monday, October 13.

Bill Hutto introduced our speakers, Mariann Eitzman and Amber Shaver from the Harris Center. Mariann and Amber talked about the upcoming season at the Harris Center. They also talked about the three theaters at the center and outreach activities of the center. They raffled two tickets to the musical Chicago, parking pass, and an individual membership. The winner was Subbanna Chenna.
President Scott presented chocolates from Snookâs including a chocolate Rotary Wheel to Mariann and Amber for speaking to us.
