The meeting of December 5 was opened by President Ramesh at 7 pm. Bill Hutto led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
Secretary Jim Padgett introduced guests and visiting Rotarians. The Folsom High School Interact Club Officers were among our guests and they introduced themselves.
On December 21, our club will be caroling at the Folsom Zoo Wild Nights and Holiday Lights.
President Ramesh reminded everyone of the Holiday Party on Thursday, December 12 at 6 pm at the Folsom Community Center.
Olga Garton reminded everyone about the Wishing Tree and how we can help under privileged students and families in the Folsom Cordova School District this Christmas. She also thanked the members who have donated gifts.
Scott Bailey introduced our speaker, Chad Wilson, Assistant Chief overseeing the Folsom Fire Department's Emergency Operation Division. The Emergency Operations Division includes all staff functions that provide fire protection, rescue, hazardous materials mitigation, advanced life support, emergency medical services, and other emergency calls for public assistance to the community. The division provides services 24/7 and operates from five fire stations that are strategically located throughout the city. Chad talked about the history of the Folsom Fire Department and what his division does in providing services to the community.
Chad is retiring on December 12. His replacement, Matt McGee was with him and introduced to the club.

Rotaplast Mission to India
President Ramesh announced in the meeting of December 5 that Rich Rider and Vicki Bencken are in Nagamangala, India on a Rotaplast Mission. Rotaplast International, Inc. is committed to helping children and families worldwide by eliminating the burden of cleft lip and/or palate, burn scarring, and other deformities. Working with local professionals, Rotarians, and other organizations, Rotaplast sends multidisciplinary medical teams to provide free reconstructive surgery, ancillary treatment, and training for the comprehensive care of these children. Rotaplast supports education and research towards prevention of cleft lip and/or palate. Rich and Vicki traveled to India with other Rotarians from our district.
Planting Daffodil Bulbs on Sutter Street
On Saturday, December 7, 6 members of the Rotary Club of Historic Folsom, 3 members of the Rotary Club of Folsom Lake, and 9 members of the Rotary Club of Folsom planted hundreds of daffodil bulbs on Sutter Street. This project will enhance Sutter Street in the spring of 2025.
