Meeting Notes from March 27, 2025
 
The meeting of March 27 was opened by President Ramesh at 7 pm. John Abernethy led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bill Hutto gave the Invocation.
 
Get to Know Your Fellow Rotarian member spotlight featured Don Reid. His spotlight can be accessed here.
 
Secretary Jim Padgett introduced guests and visiting Rotarians. 
 
Secretary Jim thanked Dave Doherty for buying the bar to celebrate his and Terri's 39th wedding anniversary. Terri was at the meeting. Dave also thanked Vicki and Ryan  for the program on donating blood. Vicki reminded the members of the blood drive in June.
 
President Ramesh said that the club still has service shirts. If you need a work shirt, let President Ramesh know. Henry Sundermier said there are no work projects in the pipeline now but he is working on possibilities.
 
Justin reminded the members that the Dragon Boat Races are at Black Miners Bar on Saturday, April 5. The Rotary Club of Folsom boat is full but you can come out and cheer for the team on Saturday. 
 
President Ramesh presented the initiative called "Lace up for Charity" started by 5 Freshmen from Vista Del Lago to help under-resourced classrooms by raising funds with a charity run. Please support the initiative if you can. The QR code is in the image below for more information or let President Ramesh know if you have any questions.
 
 
President Ramesh reminded members of the Special Events coming up in May. Scott Bailey is planning the Mystery Trip on May 15. 40 members have registered for the event so there are only 16 seats available on the bus. You can register at Mystery Trip on our website.
 
Matt Sundermier is planning a River Cats ball game outing on May 29, 5th Thursday of the month. He sent out a registration email with 2 options, $30 per person for self-drive OR $50 per person for van/bus pooling. Please RSVP by registering on our website at River Cats game
 
Fine Master Dave Doherty levied fines.
 
Vicki Bencken introduced our speaker, Bill Marr. Bill is a member of the Speakers Bureau for Stop Stigma Sacramento. According to their website "Mental Health Conditions are real, common, and treatable". Bill described his challenges with anxiety and you can read his story on the Stop Stigma Sacramento website under the section "Stories from our Speakers Bureau".
 
President Ramesh thanked Bill and presented him with Rotary Snooks chocolates.
