Meeting Notes from April 2,2026

The meeting of April 2 was opened at 7 pm by President Scott Bailey leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Bob Mange gave the Invocation.

Secretary Jim Padgett introduced guests and visiting Rotarians.

Samantha Davidson sent the Bullegraph of March 26 to FCUSD Superintendent Erik Swanson. The March 26 Bullegraph covered the Annual Teacher Grants to Folsom teachers. Erik thanked the club for the awards and for naming the awards after Bob Mange.

The Rotary Club of Folsom and the Folsom Rotary Foundation each have a fireworks booth this year. 

One of our guests, Tiffany Andrews addressed the club about a fund-raiser coming up called "An Evening of Silver Stars". The fund-raiser is a Gala Honoring Silver Star Moms and Supporting Team River Runner. The event is at the California Aerospace Museum at the former McClellan Air Force Base on Saturday, April 11. Several members are going to this event and if you would like to join them, contact Dawn Johnson.

President Scott went over the speaker calendar and event line-up for the month of April including:

Joe Gagliardi invited everyone to attend the Choose Folsom Community Awards on Thursday, April 30 which will replace our 5th Thursday meeting. Joe said that John Messner will be receiving an award.

Justin Raithel invited members to sign-up for Paddle for a Purpose which will be at Black Miners Bar on Saturday, April 25. Four people have already signed up. Justin guaranteed our club will not come in third this year. If you are interested in paddling, contact Justin.

The Rotary Spring Concert Series at the Zittel Family Amphitheater starts on Saturday, April 11 at 6:30 pm. Here is the schedule:

President Scott gave an update on the Mystery Trip on Thursday, May 21. Thirty-two of fifty-six spots have been taken. Sign-up on our website at Mystery Trip.

Jim Ortega levied fines.

Past District Governor Steve Turner introduced our guest speakers, Patrick Alessandri and Tom Nevins, with Sacramento Search and Rescue. Patrick described what the volunteer organization called Search and Rescue does in conjunction with police departments in the Sacramento region. Tom answered some of the questions from club members,

President Scott presented a box of Snook's chocolate with a chocolate Rotary Wheel to Patrick and suggested he share it with Tom.
