The meeting was called to order by President Ryan Jantzen at 6:59 pm.  President Ryan led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance and Al Stehli gave the Invocation.  Linda Klug bought the bar in honor of Ray who passed away a few weeks ago.  Linda was at the meeting along with her son, Lance, and his daughter.  Sue Dreher was also with the family.  Ken Stuart read a poem that he had written about a sailing trip to the San Juan Islands several years ago with Ray, John Messner, John Kemp, and Patrick Maxfield.  Frank Woods read a statement from Ray explaining how he got the name Ray-Ray.

Dave Boldt, substituting for Secretary Jim Padgett, introduced visiting Rotarians and guests.

Justin Raithel said that the Community Day service project on September 17 will be at Twin Lakes Food Bank.  He also explained how to sign up for the work party.

President Ryan is the Blood Donor Chair for Rotary District 5180.  The district has set up a challenge for clubs to double the number of donors.  Clubs who double their donors will get Double Double burgers from In and Out Burgers.

If you do not have access to the Rotary International website (rotary.org), contact Frank Woods at (916) 337-0769 if you need help.  Also, if you need assistance with ClubRunner for any reason, contact Frank and he will help with logon, passwords, or any other issue you might have.

Although Rotary Foundation Chairs John Messner and Ken Stuart will take checks to the Rotary Foundation, they would prefer that you go to rotary.org and set up Myrotary.org access.  By doing so you can give a single donation or setup a recurring donation.

Don't forget, the September 1st meeting is the First Responders Luncheon at the Folsom Community Center.

Jim Ortega introduced our speaker, Fire Chief Ken Cusano.  Fire Chief Cusano gave us an update on what's happening in the Folsom Fire Department.
