Meeting Notes September 3, 2026

The meeting of September 3 was brought to order at 7 pm by President John Baciocco. Jacob Locke led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
 
Secretary Jim Padgett introduced visitors and visiting Rotarians. 
 
President John thanked Past-President Scott Bailey for leading the meeting of August 27. President John also thanked Tara Abraham for helping get tickets online for Oktoberfest and Renaissance Faire. President John thanked Samantha Davidson and Frank Woods for publishing the Bullegraph. President John also thanked Chuck Thompson, Conni Thompson, and Leslie Michaylo for selling hats and other items at the fire works booths.
 
 
Henry Sundermier announced the Rotary Concert Series 2026 produced by the Rotary Club of Folsom. The concerts are at the Zittel Family Amphitheater from 6 pm to 8 pm as follows:
  • Friday, September 11 Brisco County, Country
  • Friday, September 19 Petty/Jack Flash, Tom Petty/Stones
  • Saturday, September 26 Have Mercy, Top 40 Hits

District Governor Elect Ryan Jantzen reminded members to sign up for the Blood Drive in October.
 
Samantha Davidson sent out an email on August 19 with information about sponsorships for Oktoberfest. She also included a silent auction list and asked members to sign up for specific silent auction items. Members can also get gift cards and give them to Conni Thompson.
 
 
Chuck Thompson said that we are making progress on the Rotary Legacy Flag Project. The club received a $10,000 donation from Dave Doherty's firm, Stanfield Systems. President John Baciocco will be making presentations to the Historic District and Folsom City Council.
 
 
Jim Ortega levied fines.
 
Dawn Johnson introduced our speakers, Rob Ross and Ramesh Dontha. Rob and Ramesh gave a presentation on Artificial Intelligence, A Field Guide for the Rest of Us. The first slide included a statement that "Everything you are about to see is real. Most of it is less than three years old." Here is their final slide:
 
 
Past President Scott presented a box of Shook's chocolate to Rob and Ramesh.
