The meeting of September 3 was brought to order at 7 pm by President John Baciocco. Jacob Locke led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation.

 

Secretary Jim Padgett introduced visitors and visiting Rotarians. 

 

President John thanked Past-President Scott Bailey for leading the meeting of August 27. President John also thanked Tara Abraham for helping get tickets online for Oktoberfest and Renaissance Faire. President John thanked Samantha Davidson and Frank Woods for publishing the Bullegraph. President John also thanked Chuck Thompson, Conni Thompson, and Leslie Michaylo for selling hats and other items at the fire works booths.

 

Henry Sundermier announced the Rotary Concert Series 2026 produced by the Rotary Club of Folsom. The concerts are at the Zittel Family Amphitheater from 6 pm to 8 pm as follows:

 

President John put up the following slide about the Rotary Club of Historic Folsom concert on Friday, September 18.

 

 

Scott Moore talked about Renaissance Faire and said we need lots of members to sign up and sell beer. Colnn Miguelgorry emailed the club members on Monday, August 31 requesting members to sign up for a shift. Volunteer sign-up. In Colnn's words "Click the link. Choose thy shift. Become legend.
It’s really that simple".

 

President John announced that tickets are available for Oktoberfest and you can pick your seats when you purchase your tickets. He asked each member to sell at least 4 tickets. To purchase tickets, go to 2026 Oktoberfest.

 

 

President John made presentations of the Rotary Legacy Flag Project this past week to the Folsom Historic District and the Folsom City Council. The project was approved by both the District and the City Council.

 

 

 

 

Conni Thompson reminded the members of the two projects on Community Service Day. Meet at the Robert H. Miller III Folsom Rotary Clubhouse or Mt. Olive Church to do the projects that you signed up for at 8:30 am. 

 

Scott Bailey and Jim Ortega were the two members to do "Two Truths and a Lie".

 

Jim Ortega levied fines.

 

Dawn Johnson introduced our guest speaker, Tiffany Lynn Andrews, who is an advocate for wounded service member families. Tiffany's son, Marine Sgt. Tyler Vargas-Andrews, was severely wounded in the Kabul terrorist attack when a suicide bomber detonated himself outside Abbey Gate during the U.S. evacuation from Kabul, Afghanistan. Tiffany talked about being with him through multiple surgeries and rehabilitation. 

 

President John presented a box of Shook's chocolate to Tiffany for sharing her story with us.
