Rotary Club of Folsom Meeting - May 28, 2026
President Scott opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by an invocation from Bob Mange. Secretary Jim welcomed members and guests before Fine Master Jim Ortega took the stage, sparking plenty of laughter and good-natured banter as he levied fines throughout the room.
Chief Adam Green Shares Vision for the Folsom Police Department
We enjoyed a full house as members welcomed Folsom Police Chief Adam Green as our guest speaker. Adding to the occasion was the attendance of former Sacramento County Sheriff John McGinnis, who joined us for the presentation and discussion on law enforcement leadership and community engagement.
Chief Green, who has dedicated his career to public service and law enforcement, shared insights from his first six months leading the Folsom Police Department. He provided an overview of the department's operations, staffing, and organizational structure while discussing the priorities and values that guide both his leadership and the department's daily work.
Among the department's key priorities are:
- Service and Professionalism
- Crime and Community Problem Solving
- Thoughtful Use of Technology
- Investment in Employees
Chief Green also highlighted the leadership principles that help shape the culture of the Folsom Police Department, including a focus on people, engagement and connectivity, trust and accountability, teamwork, and a commitment to a positive future.
These priorities are grounded in the department's core values of Courage, Integrity, Esprit de Corps, Professionalism, Accountability, Compassion, Safety, and Justice. Throughout his presentation, Chief Green emphasized the strong relationship between the Folsom Police Department and the community it serves. He shared his appreciation for the support officers receive from Folsom residents and expressed confidence in the department's future as it continues working to build trust, strengthen partnerships, and provide exceptional service to our community.
In recognition of his commitment to public service and his partnership with the Folsom community, President Scott concluded the presentation by presenting Chief Green with an honorary membership to the Rotary Club of Folsom. The gesture reflects our club’s appreciation for Chief Green’s leadership and the strong relationship between the Folsom Police Department and our Rotary family.
Folsom Rotary Foundation Board AppointmentsWith two vacancies opening on the Folsom Rotary Foundation Board of Trustees effective July 1, President Doug Burton appointed Justin Raithel and Olga Garton to serve as Trustees beginning July 1, 2026. Doug and Treasurer Rik Bennett will conclude their service on the Board as their terms come to an end. Trustees serve three-year terms and play an important role in guiding the Foundation's work and impact within our community.
Blue Badge RecognitionCongratulations to Samantha Avina, Albert Solano, and Jim Howe on receiving their official Rotary "Blue Badges." Receiving a Blue Badge represents an important milestone in a member's Rotary journey, recognizing their commitment to learning about Rotary, becoming actively engaged in club activities, and embracing the ideals of Service Above Self. We are excited to celebrate this achievement and look forward to their continued involvement and engagement within our club.
