The meeting of August 20 was brought to order at 7 pm by Past-President Scott Bailey. Rich Rider led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
Secretary Jim Padgett introduced visitors and visiting Rotarians. There were many spouses/partners in attendance.
The Rotary Club of Historic Folsom is having a fund-raiser on Friday, September 18th as follows:
Past President Scott said that Will Kempton will be honored at the 1st Annual Folsom History Gala on Friday, October 2, 2026 6 PM at the Folsom Community Center. Cost is $100 per person. Scott encouraged members to attend in support of Will. Register at

District Governor Elect Ryan Jantzen reminded members to sign up for the Blood Drive in October.
Samantha Davidson sent our an email on August 19 with information about sponsorships for Oktoberfest. She also included a silent auction list and asked members to sign up for specific silent auction items. Members can also get gift cards and give them to Conni Thompson.
Chuck Thompson said that we are making progress on the Rotary Legacy Flag Project. The club received a $10,000 donation from Dave Doherty's firm, Stanfield Systems. He will be making presentations to the Historic District and Folsom City Council.
Jim Ortega levied fines.
Dawn Johnson introduced our speakers, Rob Ross and Ramesh Dontha. Rob and Ramesh gave a presentation on Artificial Intelligence, A Field Guide for the Rest of Us. The first slide included a statement that "Everything you are about to see is real. Most of it is less than three years old." Here is their final slide:
