Meeting Notes from January 27, 2022
 
President Steve Brozosky opened the meeting at 7 pm by leading the Pledge of Allegiance.  Someone in the club led the members singing My Country Tis of Thee and we all sounded pretty good.  Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
 
Secretary Jim Padgett asked Al Stehli to introduce his guests, his daughter Julie Bailey and her husband Chuck.
 
President Steve showed a Rotary Foundation video.  The speaker on the video was Dean Rohrs, a TRF Board Trustee from South Africa.  
 
The rest of the meeting was Club Assembly.  Each of the members of the Club Board gave a report on their area of responsibility.  Below are highlights from each speaker.
 
Secretary Jim said the account balances are in good shape.  He asked the members to call him if they are going to miss a meeting.  Please call no later than Monday before the meeting.
 
Treasurer Ramesh Dontha went over the Club Balance Sheet and a Profit and Loss Statement.
 
President Steve said that the Evening with Brian Shul netted $42,000.  $10,000 was donated to Wounded Warriors.  He said that the club accounts look good compared to last year and the current budget.
 
Justin Raithel reported on Community Service.  He went over the completed projects and announced that the final work day on the Lew Howard roof project would be Saturday, February 5.  He said upcoming projects would be rebuilding the shade structure at Power House Ministries and s shade structure at Murer House.
 
Kate Gonzales reported on International Service.  She said that she is setting up a committee to work on the funds that the Foundation received recently.  The funds are allocated to an educational project(s) in India.  Joe Gagliardi announced that the next trip to Colima, Mexico will be March 11 to 16 to work at the school.  If you are interested, contact Joe.  Kate also said that she is looking at a project helping women with small businesses.
 
Richelle Brooks reported on Vocational Service.  We need more of our members to volunteer as mentors for the upcoming Leadership Conference in March.  We had a labeling party for the dictionaries.  Because of COVID, we will not be able to deliver them to the students again this year.  Richelle asked for a volunteer to be liaison to the Interact Club and for Rotary Youth Exchange Student host families.
 
Scott Moore reported on Club Service.  He is looking to new members to serve at the bar before our meetings.  It is a great way to get to know the members.  If you want to buy the bar for a meeting, see Scott.
 
Christie Watrous reported on Special Events.  We have the Valentines Party coming up in February and there will be a Mystery Trip this year.  There will not be a club auction.
 
Monika Reyes reported on Membership.  She said we have brought in some really good members this year.  She would like to start a Sunshine Committee to keep in touch with members who are not attending meetings, etc. and asked for volunteers.  For our club, it will probably have another name.
 
Sue Barrett, Rotary Foundation Chair was not at the meeting so President Steve made a request.  He would like everyone in the club to donate to the Rotary Foundation on Rotary Direct. 
 
Paul Bonaventure, President of the Folsom Rotary Foundation Board of Trustees and Garry Parlier, CFO of the Folsom Rotary Foundation Board of Trustees gave a report on the Foundation.
 
Steve Sprague levied fines.
