Charter Members
About Our Club
In May 1953, Placerville Rotary asked Folsom businessmen if they were interested in forming a Folsom Rotary Club. In June, a special District Governor representative was appointed to help organize a new club and the first meeting was held on August 6, 1953. Rotary International approved our charter on September 10, 1953. Folsom Rotary's Charter Night was October 17, 1953 at Larkin Hall on the grounds of Folsom Prison. There were twenty-three (23) Charter Members as an inmate band entertained. Ed Streatz, a Sutter Street clothier, served as the first President in 1953-54.
