At the Rotary Club of Folsom meeting on March 3, 2022, 17 teachers in Folsom received $7,500 in grants to be used for projects in their classrooms.

The Rotary Teacher Grant program started as a club project 24 years ago. It started as an up to $250.00 grant to fund a project, materials and/or equipment for their class or classes.  But thanks to the generosity of our members this was the sixth year that our grants were offered as an up to $500.00 amount.  With the Folsom Lake Rotary Club joining with us again this year, the two clubs provided a total grant expenditure $7,500.00.  To date, including this year, Rotary has provided over 327 teachers with grants that total over $130,000.00. This year the clubs had 25 applications from 12 schools and were able to fund 17 grants."

At the meeting, Bob Mange asked each teacher to introduce their principal and/or guest that might be with them this evening.  The teachers then told us the grade level and/or subject they teach, and gave a brief explanation of the project, material, and/or equipment that the grant will help to fund.  Sonny DaMarto, who coordinates the teacher grant selection for the Folsom Lake Club, presented the checks.
