At the January 16 meeting of the Rotary Club of Folsom, the 2025 Teacher Grants were presented to the teachers who were selected based on their projects.

Rotarian Bob Mange was emcee for the presentations and gave the following introduction about the grant program and our support of Folsom schools.

The Rotary Teacher Grant program started as a club project 27 years ago.  It started as an up to $250 grant to fund a project, materials and/or equipment for a class or classes. Thanks to the generosity of our members this was the tenth year that grants have been offered as an up to $500 amount. The Rotary Club of Folsom Lake joined with us again this year and with both clubs provided grants totaling $7,470.  To date, Rotary has provided 385 teachers with grants that total over $150,000. This year we had 23 applications from 12 schools and were able to fund 18 grants.

Over the past 27 years, the Folsom Rotary Club has provided over $500,000 to Folsom Schools though the teacher grant program, our annual Rotary Student Speech Contest, our annual Student Scholarship program, our student Partnership for Tomorrow, which is our annual Leadership and Ethics Conference for high school juniors, and dictionaries that are handed out annually to all Folsom third graders. The Rotary Club of Folsom also sponsors Interact Clubs at Folsom High School and at Vista del Lago High School.

Bob introduced each teacher and Rotarian Sonny Da Marto presented the checks to the teachers. Sonny coordinates the teacher grant selection for the Rotary Club of Folsom Lake. Each teacher told us where they teach, the grant amount, and their project that was funded by the grant. Here are the grants:
