On Saturday, October 19, Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Folsom, the Rotary Club of Historic Folsom, and the Rotary Club of Folsom Lake completed the greenhouse at the Lake Natoma Nursery and Gardens at Black Miners Bar. |
Photos of the October 5th and 19th work parties can be viewed here. The project started on Saturday April 27 when Rotarians from the three Rotary Clubs and friends laid the foundation for the greenhouse. and poured footings for a shade structure next to the cabin. This project took several days to complete, and the previous work parties can be viewed at
The Rotary Clubs also built a shade structure attached to a cabin which is at the site of the greenhouse. The purpose of the nursery is to grow healthy native plants needed for the park's eco-restoration projects. The purpose of the interpretive gardens is to offer park visitors an opportunity to enjoy and learn about native plants and the habitats they provide. The three clubs contributed $10,000 to this project which was done in partnership with FOLFAN (Friends of Lakes Folsom and Natoma). |
